Artist Feature: W. Tucker

W. Tucker studio tour

We are pleased to share with you our first artist feature on W. Tucker. This virtual studio tour couples his exhibition titled, Heads in the Mountains. We hope these artworks resonate with you as much as they do for us. This scrappy cast of characters by artist W. Tucker will be hanging on the gallery walls April 27-June 7, 2020.

Full of joy and internal play, this exhibition has expanded our creative processes at the gallery. From having Tayloe unpack the work to handing over our key to local artist Mike Piggott for the installation, each step of this show has been extraordinary. This creative journey could not have happened without the help of W. Tucker. He has graciously shared images of his life in Austin, written stories, and even had his wife, Silvia, film two short videos that explore his studio. This intriguing glimpse into W. Tucker’s artistic process inspires us and represents the joy of creating.

In times like these, it is truly moving to watch art bring people together from across the country. We are proud to commit to the philosophy that “the show must go on”. Art is powerful, and we can think of nothing better to embrace during these stormy times.

Please stay tuned for our upcoming emails, social media posts, intimate videos, and playful imagery that feature the artworks that we currently have on view. We aim to bring you close to an exhibition even if it is from afar. Private appointments are available through the following avenues: Facetime, Zoom, and in-gallery. Please call the gallery at (307) 733-0555 to schedule your digital or in-person viewing.

The show must go on! We hope W. Tucker’s cast of characters brightens your day.

Warm wishes and for the love of art,

TPG
